FAQS

Do you meet me beforehand?

I would definitely recommend meeting beforehand to discuss everything in person, as it helps me understand what kind of approach and shots would suit you best.  An engagement shoot prior to the wedding is a really good way for us all to get to know each other, and ensure that having your photo taken on the day itself is as relaxing as possible.  Speaking from personal experience, I can completely understand having one’s photo taken is not everyone’s idea of fun!  A reccie is also a good idea – we can talk through the day while ‘walking the route’, this often helps sort out some logistical and timing issues.

Do you take formal group shots as well as reportage?

Yes.  Although for most of the day I will shoot as unobtrusively as possible to truly capture the atmosphere, group photos are recommended to ensure we get nice shots of you with your close family.  I recommend we keep these to a minimum and plan them well beforehand so they run as quickly and smoothly as possible, and don’t cause any stress – relaxed formal photos is what we are aiming for!  Then you can enjoy as much of the day as possible.  It is also good to take five minutes or so to get some really nice portraits of just the two of you.  Depending on the timings of the day, these can be fitted conveniently into an empty slot (while your guests are being seated for dinner for example), so again it doesn’t impinge too much on your day.

Do you always work alone?

Most of the time I work alone; for an average sized wedding one photographer is plenty.  If however your wedding is particularly large (300+ guests), or you specifically want full coverage of the bridal preparations and the groom’s preparations, usher’s lunch and guests arriving for the ceremony, then two photographers is recommended.  I know a couple of photographers of equal experience and with a similar style to mine who I have worked with on many occasions, and if a job requires a second photographer I am very happy to welcome one of them on board.

When will the photos appear online?

The photos will appear online about 2-3 weeks after the wedding day, and you will receive your high resolution USB at the same time.

Who chooses the photos to print / for the album?

You do!  If however, you have trouble choosing I am more than happy to help you and we can meet up to go through them all together.  When I create albums for clients, as standard I would have one meeting to go through all the completed layouts, so we can make any final adjustments before printing.

How do we book you?
